ABOUT JEREMY HOUSE
Jeremy House was born and raised in Montana, where faith, family, and community have always guided his life. His journey in law enforcement began in 1990 at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy in Bozeman, where he joined the very first pre-service class.
Over the next three decades, Jeremy rose through the ranks from Patrol Deputy and Task Force Officer to Captain and Assistant Chief of Police in Billings. He led major investigations into violent crime, drug trafficking, and human trafficking, working closely with federal partners including the FBI, DEA, and ATF.
Jeremy has been recognized throughout his career for bravery and leadership, earning the Medal of Valor, Supervisor of the Year, Life Saving Award, and multiple Medals of Merit.
Outside of law enforcement, Jeremy and his wife Shawna give back as volunteer firefighters with the Fuego Volunteer Fire Company, where Jeremy currently serves as Fire Chief. Together, they have five children and three grandchildren.
“Service is in my blood. Whether it’s in uniform or as a volunteer firefighter, I believe in doing my part to protect and strengthen the place we call home."
— Jeremy House

“I’ve spent my entire career standing up for what’s right and protecting those who can’t protect themselves. As Sheriff, I’ll defend our freedoms, back our deputies, and keep our communities safe.”
PRIORITIES
PROTECTING OUR COMMUNITIES
Jeremy believes the first duty of the Sheriff’s Office is to keep people safe. He will focus on reducing crime, tackling drug trafficking, and improving response times across Musselshell County.
“We can’t afford to take a passive approach to law enforcement. We have to be proactive, visible, and ready to respond.”
SUPPORTING OUR DEPUTIES
Jeremy understands that law enforcement officers need the tools, training, and leadership to succeed. As Sheriff, he will prioritize officer safety, professional development, and accountability within the department.
DEFENDING OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS
Jeremy will always stand up for the U.S. Constitution and the Montana Constitution — including your right to bear arms, your right to free speech, and your right to live free from government overreach.
“I’ll never forget who I work for: the people of Musselshell County.”
RESTORING TRUST IN LAW ENFORCEMENT
Transparency, integrity, and community engagement are central to Jeremy’s leadership philosophy. He’ll work every day to strengthen the bond between deputies and the citizens they serve.
